At the turn of the century, its predecessor and patriarch Mr.Abdul Karim Khamas, a prominent local businessman envisioned a trading opportunity. In 1890, with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the resources available in Dubai, Mr. Khamas began to supply wood, dates and building materials to customers in Dubai, the neighboring emirates and the Arabian Gulf, India, Iran, Zanzibar and Iraq.
The new generation of talented businessmen led the Khamas Group in succession. In 1945, his son Mr.Yousuf Khamas established the Real Estate & Property division in Dubai. In 1961, Mr.Mohamed Yousuf Khamas diversified into Architecture and Agriculture.
Since 1982, the Group is headed by Mr. Bader Bu Khamas, then board’s vice chairman. He extended the property, real estate, agriculture, architecture, manufacturing and many other business avenues. He continued at the helm until his appointment as board chairman in 2007, while his brother Mr.Khalid Khamas succeeded him in the board as Vice Chairman, simultaneously. Under the supervision of their father, they led the Group and developed it intensely. The core of its values and principles is likewise transparent in other commerce it diversifies. And for over a century, Khamas Group has become an institution of faith, trust, and multi industry across the UAE.
